About Us

Hi, We’re Annie and Rick, founders and gallery directors of Art on 1st, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit gallery in downtown Roanoke,Virginia. Our gallery nurtures artists' development while connecting our community through accessible, meaningful art experiences.

Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming place for artists of all abilities, income levels, challenges and experience, to learn, create, and display their art in a gallery setting. We are a resource for the community to discover new artists and for artists to develop an audience and collectors for their work. We provide an environment for practicing art for personal growth, healing, and recovery.
